Join our Family!

UCC Preschool Academy is designed to meet the needs of the UCC church body and local community by sharing the mission to partner with families to help build a Spiritual foundation for children that will enable them to become fully devoted followers of Christ, as well as life- long learners. Our purpose is to provide children the opportunity not only to attend preschool but to attend one that teaches Christian values.  Our goal at UCC Preschool Academy is to minister to the whole child, and our individual objectives are derived from the “Kansas Early Learning” standards as well as child development milestones. We are a Christ-centered licensed preschool with an Academic focus that engages children in active learning.

More Kristi facts:
  • Director at UCC Preschool Academy since May of 2013.
  • My husband Randy and I have been married since 1982 and we have four children and six grandchildren. We both came from the Wichita area but have lived in Manhattan and attended UCC since 1996.
  • I received my Bachelor degree at Manhattan Christian College in 2007, and my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Studies at Walden University in 2012. I have been in the early childhood field for 20+ years; seven of those as a home childcare provider, one as a childcare licensing surveyor for the Riley County Health Dpt, five as an early childhood Educator for the Health Dpt, and I’ve been the childcare center director here at UCCPA since 2013.
  • I have had a passion for working with children since as far back as I can remember and worked as a Para Educator for about 7 years with elementary and middle school aged children. It was after my third child that I felt called to the early childhood field and never turned back. I believe that the early years play an integral part in forming the foundation that each child needs to succeed in school and beyond. UCCPA is unique in that, we not only prepare them academically, but we develop them socially, emotionally, AND Spiritually.
