Many of us expect that our Christmas will involve neatly wrapped gifts, a beautifully trimmed tree, and a flawlessly cooked meal. But, the first Christmas was not at all like what the people had hoped for. In the gospels, there are unexpected, uncomfortable, and even seemingly scandalous events surrounding Christ’s birth. This season, we want to look at the unexpected hope, peace, joy, and love that Jesus brought - and how it may challenge our expectations of the perfect Christmas holiday.
