How Do I Worship When It's Hard?
Life doesn’t always cooperate, so this week we’re talking about how to worship God when you just don’t feel like it, whether you’re facing grief, loneliness, a hard diagnosis, a deployment, or a prayer that seems to go unanswered. We look at the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk, who was honest with God about everything that was falling apart and still chose to say “yet I will rejoice,” and we talk about lament, which is simply pouring out your pain to God while still choosing to trust Him. We also follow Paul and Silas into a jail cell in Acts 16, where they sang hymns at midnight after being beaten and chained up, and we see how their worship in the dark led a prison guard and his whole family to faith in Jesus. You’ll also hear a powerful story from a church member about pregnancy loss and finding comfort in Jesus. Whether your faith feels strong right now or you’re barely hanging on, this message is a reminder that worship isn’t based on our circumstances but on God’s unchanging character, and that you never have to go through hard times alone.
